Ayurveda does not see the body as a machine to be optimised, but as a microcosm of the universe — deserving reverence and understanding.

The three doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — are not merely biological categories. They are qualities of consciousness expressed through matter. Vata is the principle of movement; Pitta of transformation; Kapha of cohesion. Each of us is a unique combination of these principles, and health is the dynamic balance appropriate to our individual constitution.

The morning routine prescribed by Ayurveda — dinacharya — is a meditation in itself. Oil pulling, tongue scraping, self-massage with warm sesame oil: these are not merely hygiene practices but acts of conscious care for the instrument through which we experience life.
